Happy Diwali to all in advance.
For the last 5 years, Vidyoday Muktangan Parivar Foundation has run Sevankur Sugar School and Study Centers at various places in Shirol tehsil so that the children of sugarcane workers can continue their diverse study curriculum here.
Every year, all these daily wagers and children migrate from all parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka after Diwali. But due to the economic downturn this year, factories have started early. So these laborers have to come early too.
Diwali is a festival of happiness and well-being. As we celebrate this festival, we all happily shop for ourselves and our loved ones.Our lives are loaded with a lot of sweets, new clothes, new materials, and firecrackers and the joy that come along with it.
But on the other hand, while we are celebrating this festival, this section of the society where Diwali lamps are not lit at all. Therefore, we have undertaken the initiative;
Let’s celebrate Diwali for Deprived ones’ on this Diwali and Children’s Day (14 November, 2020).
So far 60 sugarcane worker families have come to our area and 45 children have been recorded in the survey.
We intend to give a Diwali kit of Rs. 300 to each of them.
60 sugarcane worker families x 300 = 18,000.

(for eg : – New old clothes, farals, school supplies etc.)
